HOW TO MAXIMIZE TEAM PERFORMANCE IN YOUR BUSINESS

Clarity for Your Team on What They are Doing and Why They Are Doing It

HOW TO MAXIMIZE TEAM PERFORMANCE IN YOUR BUSINESS

best leadership coach tucson- eric miller.us/coach
Are you experiencing team management issues around achieving a new organizational initiative? Performance orientated people like to win. Synergistic teams of achievers are extraordinarily clear about the behaviors needed to maximize performance to make the organization great. They have clarity as a result of leadership defining “what” the company does and “why” it does it. Not defining the “what” forces your team to work around the organization because it’s not defined. They are then spending their energy sideways.

Having clarity about what the organization does, furthers the  culture of interdependence. The resistance to the fear of change needed to achieve a business initiative goes away. You then have a staff that is empowered to make clear decisions that further the company’s mission. This clarity provides the filter around how teams decisions are made, and mistakes are more easily recognized. The “why” a company does what it does, answers the questions for the course correction when a mistake is revealed. The win is abundantly clear for the team and the business.  It is then important to celebrate the win.

4 Questions To Ask That Will Get You Started in Maximizing Team Performance

1. What is the problem your team has come together to solve?

2. What is the task your team has come together to accomplish?

3. What is the opportunity your team has come together to leverage?

4. What drives the team members energy? What’s the thing that everything should be organized to achieve the business objective?

Final Thoughts to Ponder

As a business leader you know the importance of an organizational chart. Consider using it as a template and not for permanent assignments. An organizational chart can become performance limiting, when you see talent rising to the top as a result of the interdependent culture that you have created. Then promote on merit of the individual’s talents to a role that gives them happiness and fulfillment. All stakeholders then win.
