SECRETS REVEALED FOR ACHIEVING GOALS AFTER DOUBT CREEPS IN

How  to  Become  Unstoppable  When  Expressing  Your  Purpose

SECRETS REVEALED FOR ACHIEVING GOALS AFTER DOUBT CREEPS IN

leadership coaching, executive coach, bit.ly/pivotmap
You know the importance of goal setting and you’ve qualified your intentions for growth using the S.M.A.R.T. goal criteria. You have created an action map to make your dreams come true then… it happens. That negative voice in your head says something like, “how dare you, who do you think you are, you can’t achieve that goal.“

If you’ve ever said those things to yourself or something similar, you’re not alone. When inner speech turns negative – and it can happen to even the most successful people in the world – it will over time, generate a plethora of problems. If the negative talk is self -destructive enough, it can make you quit your job and make you treat your family with disdain.

Positive self-talk improves attentiveness, autonomy, confidence, and work performance. Turning negative inner speech into positive self-talk will enable you to enhance your performance and achieve your goals.

Follow These Six Steps and Watch Your Vision Become a Reality
Step 1. Observe your inner speech and keep a “thought record”

Take out a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle of the page. For a period of one week, journal negative self -talk in situations in the left-hand column.

Step 2. Confront your inner critic and rewrite self-limiting scripts

Go back to the same sheet of paper that you created in Step One. What negative word can you replace with positive ones?
Example: Change the words from “It’s a problem”  > “It’s an opportunity”
Step 3. Replace negative thoughts with a positive inner dialog

After doing Steps One & Two observe both columns. Look for patterns of negative self-talk. See how you can reframe your perceptions and thoughts and create new positive self-talk that will help you to achieve your goals.

Step 4. Look for the gift and opportunities in every obstacle you meet

As you start to achieve smaller successes in achieving your goals, you will gain confidence in accomplishing the tasks to reach your bigger vision. When you experience what could be considered to be a setback consider it as a gift and an opportunity to find a new way to succeed. You may need to work harder or reset your smaller goals in order to achieve your big intention for growth. Creating a new reality requires leaving the old one behind.

Step 5. Focus on your accomplishments, not your setbacks

In Step 4 you learned that obstacles can be gifts for shifting your mindset in creating a new reality. Also, consider the power in focusing on your accomplishments. Looking at your successes will help you gain confidence in past performance that will propel you in achieving success.

Step 6. Review, reinforce and practice your new self-talk

Create a new positive affirmation for the situations that you wrote about in previous steps. Incorporate these affirmations into your daily routine and watch your confidence build as you achieve your goals.
