HOW I STOPPED HAVING BAD DAYS

HOW I STOPPED HAVING BAD DAYS

Choose to Make Life Magnificent

Image- Always remember, your focus determines your reality, #newmindsetacademy, #ericmiller
I finally decided that I had enough of those “bad” days that derailed me. Today, I still experience challenging circumstances that continually present themselves. The difference now is that I no longer focus on them as defeating, instead, I focus on how they can help refresh my why.

Focus equals reality. Both positive and negative, reality doesn’t have to be an actuality. We can leverage pain to our benefit. I literally did that recently with an episode of back pain. Our physiology is directly linked to how we feel. My posture had become poor after the injury. It was so subtle at first, and I didn’t realize what was happening to my emotional well-being. Slowly but surely, little things became annoyances which propelled me into a pattern of focusing on the negative aspects of my business and personal life. Quite frankly, l let the physical pain create emotional pain.

I am now grateful for the pain because it helped me to look at what I was focusing on and the need to reframe perceptions about events. Out of physical pain, I reconnected with an old friend that is also my Chiropractor. Over several sessions, Dr. Ram adjusted my back and realigned it. He showed me new exercises that have helped me optimize my posture. My workouts at the gym have also changed and I’ve grown muscles and strengthened my core.
After a few days of feeling better, I reinstated a practice that I had let go of, called Priming. My life partner, Jen, and I started doing it together and feel connected in a new and meaningful way. Both of us feel more focused on the magnificence of life and inspired to contribute more to each other and those that are important in our lives.

I also completed an incredible book called The Gratitude Effect by Dr. John Demartini. In it he talked about having gratitude for ALL events that are presented to us in life and how we can leverage those experiences to our benefit. As a result, I’ve re-evaluated my highest values and became grateful for the clarity in my vision and mission.

As a result of talking about this journey on my show, I connected with a potential new client that also was recovering from a recent injury and felt down on his luck.
My biggest takeaway from this experience is that no matter how prepared and trained we think we are, there are new challenges that present themselves that teach us more about ourselves. I can choose to learn from them or become a victim.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER

I am very grateful for the lessons and training that I’ve received from the living legend Tony Robbins. My growth as a person and my business growth has a lot to do with him. Thank you, Tony, for all you have done for me and the millions of other lives that you’ve touched.

The Triad

Anything in life we think we want, we only want because of the feeling we believe that we’ll get. We can have that pleasurable feeling anytime we want it by simply changing any of the following.

1. Physiology. What you do with your body. Emotion is created by motion. Whatever you’re feeling right now is related to how you’re using your body.

2. Focus. Whatever you focus on you’re going to believe. Focus equals reality to the individual, even though it’s not reality in actuality.

3. Language. If you want to change your life, pay attention to the words you repeat to yourself. Certain words can change the way you feel.  When you repeat phrases with enough emotional intensity you start to believe it. Utilize the power of incantations by using the ones that support you the most.
