Some days, being in a state of peak performance is more of a struggle than others, especially with all that is going on in the world. You can choose the emotions that you want and NOT let current world events choose them for you. Part of Mapping a Successful Ideal Outcome is in the type of mindset that you’re in. It has taken me a very long time to this figure out. For many years, I’ve set goals with my ideal outcome in mind and visualized it. I’ve had a lot of success with doing these things, but I’ve also failed at goal achievement more times than I care to admit. I’m a recovering pessimist. For many years, I perceived life as something that was happening TO ME and not FOR ME. This would put me in the mindset that I was a victim of circumstance. It affected all of my relationships including whom I attracted. Having a negative mindset also affected my business success and even my athletic performance. Overall, I thought I would be stuck in an unhappy state all of my life. In my journey, I chose negative ways to meet my needs for Certainty and Variety. Many of my choices were taking me further and further away from what I really wanted. It takes a jolt like the times that we’ve lived through in the last few years to decide to finally make a change. That decision for me came in 2013 when I came to a point where life had become totally unmanageable. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired of my stinking thinking. I had to make a shift in having a more positive mental state of being. I immersed myself fully into changing. I finally had insight on what books to read and who I could associate myself with that had the life I wanted. I then modeled those people. CHOOSE YOUR MENTAL STATE AND NAME IT Can I tell you one of the most powerful ways that we can trigger a positive state? Name the state of mind that you want to become. Shifting from a negative state can be as easy as fully associating to a word. Simply saying a word can make all the difference in the world. Think of a positive word or name that would help you to get what you really want. Is it a Mythical figure? Superhero? Celebrity? Mentor? Choose something that energizes you when you think about it. What name would help me to have endless motivation when distractions pop up? What can I name my vision when I wake up in a negative state?
